This morning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows in St. George’s Chapel. Ms. Markle’s impeccable taste showed clearly in her timeless bridal style. The gown was breathtaking. The veil was spectacular. The tiara was stunning. But what stood out most to me was her makeup!!! Word is, she did it herself, and she kept it minimal and fabulous. Read on to see how to get the look!
Meghan Markle’s bridal makeup was all about two things. Skin and eyes.
To get this look, focus on your skincare first and foremost. Using a gentle exfoliating scrub will help eliminate dullness and flaking, and speed healthy skin cells to the surface. Vitamin C serum will get your skin in peak condition as it brightens and reverses signs of aging. And a complexion perfecting oil-free moisturizer with SPF 25 is the perfect base for this natural makeup look.
I absolutely loved that you could see Meghan Markle’s freckles peeking through her sheer foundation! Ideal nude foundation combines mattifying powder with featherlight water-based pigments for fresh and natural-looking coverage. To accentuate a great jaw line and bone structure, try a user friendly contour stick, and just remember to blend, blend, blend.
Speaking of highlight, Meghan’s shoulders and decolletage shimmered in the light, as if she had mixed some Dazzle Drops in with her lotion before her gown went on!
Meghan’s bridal eye look focused on a modified smoky eye and a thin, dark and natural brow. Start with eye shadow primer on the lids, this will prevent patchiness and help your look last all day.
The multi-finish eyeshadow quad in Chocolate Sensation is perfect to recreate Meghan’s eye look, and the palette features numbered colors. The lightest color, number 1 should be used under the brow. The darkest shade, number 4, should be used closest to the lash line. Use shades 2 and 3 to blend upwards toward the crease. Just don’t blend the darker shades above the crease to get Meghan’s modified smoky look. Finish with a waterproof eyeliner at the top lash line and in the lower water line, and a dramatic mascara.
And as for the brows, it couldn’t be easier to pull off a polished look if you use one shade deeper than your hair color in a brow defining pencil, all you need to do is trace your natural brow line lightly, even going over the hairs. And follow up with a brow brush to make it perfect. Just try brushing up and out, in the direction of your natural brow growth.
Meghan kept her lips simple and pretty, with a sheer pink wash of color. You can recreate her lip look by topping off a pretty pink lip liner like our pink cashmere, with a cool frosty gloss, like our brand new lip glow in aura.
I hope you try the look, as these are universally flattering shades that complement all skin tones. Happy wedding day, Meghan and Harry!
